The Dixie Arms Hotel's in-house Italian restaurant, La Piazza, is reminiscent of a typical trattoria with checked table cloths, cosy open fire and a friendly service. Whether you just want a bottle of wine and a home made pizza to share before going out; a good freshly prepared meal with friends or even a party with our £10, £15 or £20 per head menu, you can be sure of a relaxed and informal atmosphere in which to enjoy your meal.
Both owners, Wendy and Andy along with their chefs, have taken 'hands on' courses at family run Fontana del Papa, in rural Tofla, north of Rome, where they have learnt not only to prepare and cook the tasty Italian dishes they have on their menu, but also participated in the relaxed informal way of eating this wonderful country promotes an experience they hope to re-create in La Piazza. This Italian link has created an on-going exchange programme with the Pierotti family in Tolfa, in order to enhance the menu and ambience of the restaurant.
The menu offers pizza and pasta dishes as a specialty. Pizzas are hand made and cooked in the Italian log-fired oven specially imported from Pisa.
The majority of the pasta is hand made on the premises and all ingredients are fresh. All in all, La Piazza tries its hardest to give you a true representation of Italian cooking.
The Dixie Arms Hotel and La Piazza Restaurant only uses the best free range eggs and chicken in preparing its meals in support of the Chicken Out Campaign
